Uchenna Jones: I am a loving wife and mother of three. I earned my BS degree in both Bacteriology and Nursing from UW-Madison. I am also a Certified Lactation Counselor and Registered Nurse and have supported over 1,000 births as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. In 2021, I completed the requirements for lifetime certification as a birth doula from Harambee Village Doulas and Doulaing the Doula. I am also a DONA trained doula.

Some of my accomplishments include: In December of 2023, I was recognized as one of Wisconsin’s 51 Most Influential Black Leaders for 2023. BRAVA Magazine also recognized me as a 2024 BRAVA Woman to Watch. Currently, I work as the Director of Educational Programming, a Nurse Consultant, and a Doula Trainer at Harambee Doula Care & Holistic Services. I am in my 3rd year as a midwifery student at Midwest Maternal Child Institute and apprentice with Beth Karberg, CPM, LM at Turtle Creek Midwifery and with Tehmina Islam, CPM, LM. I also serve as the Community Impact Director of Health at United Way of Dane County in Madison, Wisconsin.

I am committed to providing the best quality care to the women in my community. As an unapologetic Black woman, I am committed to working with all birthing people, especially birthing people of color, to help them receive the best reproductive healthcare possible.
